Copper & Kings
As one of the few rooftop bars in Louisville, this laid-back brunch spot offers ringside seats for the city’s industrial skyline, which is punctuated with church spires. Situated in the meatpacking district of Butchertown, all the spirits served here are created downstairs at the Copper & Kings distillery. It’s worth taking the factory tour just to witness the quirky ‘sonic ageing’ method, where loud music is blasted into the barrels to agitate the liquid. Punk is particularly effective, apparently.

Etta James plays, bourbon is the drink of the night and the conversation is endless. When I say I am the best third wheel it is because I adore hearing the stories of my couples. I love listening and learning. The achievements, the hopes, the dreams and the nows.

Bryan & Will are nothing short of magical. Will being a neurologists professor born in Trinidad and holding degrees in Law and business! Not to mention soon to be publishing a children’s book among the 15 other collections he has written. Bryan is a creative master in the world of music and fashion. Together they are two of the most down to earth kind human beings. Our session turned into a 5 hour hangout sipping bourbon, listening to music and documenting their sweetness. Sessions like this one remind me of why I do what I do. I love people and I love love!

I have had the wonderful honor to document all the different growing stages of the Barker family. It is a great joy each time to reconnect with them and see how much Declan has grown. They are about to welcome a new baby boy into the family! This session was a magical evening filled with Thor hammers, laughter, skipping rocks and a gorgeous sunset. I look forward to meeting the newest little and photographing the new family of four! <3
